Shannon Teresa Boodram is a young journalist and a life long learner. She began her role as a sexual educator when she was 19 when she appeared on a Canadian National network as a contestant wearing a saveyourcherry.com T-shirt. Since then she has gone on to host a seven-part sex ed podcast series produced by Imperial Music Studios; she was an expert panelist on Much Music Much Talks Teen Sex alongside Sue Johanson and she has spoken to various youth groups and newspapers on her brand of sexual education.
Shannon is a graduate of Centennial College in print journalism and since has gone on to work as a TV host for High School Rush on RogersTV and as a freelance writer for publications like the CBC.ca, Metro Newspaper and Cream World Magazine. She has interviewed and written features on Natsha Bedingfield, Robin Thicke, Robin Antin (Pussy Cat Dolls manager), Simple Plan, Girlicious and Deborah Cox to name a few.
She runs a women’s networking site (shannonteresa.com), a blog with her best friend Andrea Lewis (thosegirlsarewild.com) and her own photography business. She has volunteered with Big Brothers and Sisters, as a coach for youth basketball, as an intern with MTV Canada and as a mentor with an inner-city youth organization.
She considers herself a writer first and has had a life long relationship with words. Laid is by far her proudest accomplishment to date.
